Kats win! Kats win! The final score Bearkats 8, Aggies 6. It appears the Kats may have turned things around after a rough 3-10 start to the season. Sam Houston has now won 10 out of its last 14 games. I can’t remember how many times Pierce beat A&M while he was at Sam. That was back when the two schools played a game in College Station and another in Huntsville. That hasn’t happened for a while. If I’m correct, tonight’s game was the first time the Aggies had come to Huntsville since Pierce was the head coach at Sam, and he left for Tulane after the 2014 season. I’ll have to do some research and see when the last time the Aggies came to Huntsville was. The campuses are only 53 miles apart. By the way, Axe the Jacks, as SFA comes to Austin tomorrow night.

How we lost to them is beyond crazy because they’re not that good this year.

The Kats have talent. It finally looks like the baseball team is starting to play up to its potential, which unfortunately is too little, too late in terms of being an at-large, due to the horrid start.

Last week I broke down and subscribed to ESPN + so I could watch the Horns in Kansas and the rest of our road games. Of course, one of the nice things about it is there are so many games available. I snuck in a few peeks at that Aggroid game and SHSU was up 8-5 during the time I was watching.

Ain't gonna see me ragging SEC baseball this year because damn they are deep. But its fun to see that the Aggies are not amongst the teams in that league that have any reason to brag about anything.

In one game anything can happen. I wonder if the pitcher they used against us just pitched the game of his life or what?

I remember when I was a student and we played woeful Rice in a weekend series at DFF. Rice had a great pitcher named Allen Ramirez, who had a major league career. They had literally nothing else. Texas won the Friday night game handily, and Rice threw Ramirez in the first game of the Saturday double header. Rice played way over their heads because they knew Ramirez could keep the game close, and he did. I think the game went about 12 or 13 innings and he threw nearly 200 pitches and Rice beat us 4-3. I am not sure, but they might have dogpiled.

Then we then beat them by about a dozen runs in the 2nd game, and I guarantee you none of the Rice players cared. ;)

Another thing nice about ESPN+ is that you can go back and watch games you might have missed to night before. I just spent a nice 30 minutes or so watching parts of the Aggy game this morning.

Ah, didn't know that.

It was at their park with a big home crowd.
Texas slept walked through that game. They carried over their poor performance from the Sunday matchup with OU to that game. I doubt Pierce let’s them get away with that again this seasons.
