Gov. Greg Abbott signs bill making illegal immigration a state crime
The new law would authorize police to arrest people they suspect crossed the Rio Grande between ports of entry. Abbott also signed a bill earmarking more than $1 billion for more border barriers.

If the idiots in DC won't do anything, good to know our governor will.
More barriers, more walls, money to patrol areas heavily populated with illegals, harsher punishment for human smugglers, and actual criminal punishment for being here illegally.
Of course you have idiots against this that say nonsense like this:
“These measures not only threaten the safety and dignity of asylum seekers, but also risk undermining the foundational principles of our legal system,” said Krish O’Mara Vignarajah, president and CEO of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, a national organization that helps refugees settle in the U.S. “Immigration is clearly a federal authority, and this legislation knowingly dances on the edge of constitutional cliffs at the expense of vulnerable children and families.”
They don't threaten safety or dignity at all. If you want to seek asylum, go to a freaking point of entry. Trying to cross illegally threatens your safety and dignity way more than following the rules. Lettuce hope the SCOTUS remedies this immigration thing being a federal issue. When the feds don't do their job and it affects our great state negatively, we should have the right to fix it. Kids, familes, etc are just fine. Follow the damn rules or gtfo. If we can't ship them out, we should ship every illegal we catch to DC.
