Some coaches don't really care about that, like Jimbo Fisher, Lincoln Riley, Mario Cristobal to name a few. They sign the highest rated guys they can, without regard to how well they're going to fit into the locker room or trying to build a certain culture. Other coaches, like Kirby Smart, sign the elite guys, but also do some vetting to ensure that their first priority isn't "me first" and will fit in well with the team dynamic.

Certainly seems that way. Program culture will always trump talented roster with no direction
