Any coin collectors here?

MIL passed away and my wife from Nam has asked me to sell an inherited coin collection (small). There are about a dozen silver dollars from the 1880’s and a few other interesting coins. Is it smart to send an inventory to a few online marketplaces, or is it better to visit a coin shop in person?

I know virtually nothing about coins.
