Went to Astros v Orioles today and was very impressed with the guy they called up today....umm Jordan something.
1st ab in majors went deep center for an out, 2nd ab went was 2 run smash straight center field around 415'+. 3rd ab walked.

I hear they want him to work 1B but he's never played it before. Get him out of dh and in the lineup.
Still looked good without Altuve, Springer, Correa, and others.

I am jealous Fresh , at least ya got go to one, Hope ya had a good time watchin the Stros!

Alvarez had been killing it in the minors. It was getting to the point to where they were walking him and pitching around him. The rich get richer (Astros). This guy has superstar written all over him.

Yeah I heard he recently had been intentionally walked 5 times in two games, and still hit a home run.

Yordan Alvarez. Some of the guys I follow on twitter for Longhorn recruiting news also follow the Stros closely. He was absolutely destroying AAA and it was starting to become ridiculous they hadn't called him up yet. Glad they made the move and he started off with a bang. Teams won't be able to pitch around him in this lineup, especially when all the studs are healthy.

Yordan Alvarez, yeah that's him. I really don't follow minors except on rare occasions so he caught me off guard.
Stros are going to have a small window with all these young guys before their contracts outgrow the ballpark.

Thanks FBH, we had a great time. A bit bittersweet due to probably being the last game I'll share with my dad. Maybe they make another run at the WS and we can try to make one of the home games. Who knows, fingers crossed.

Yes,the guy can rake, but tap the brakes on the super star tag. He is a liability anywhere on defense.

He is a stud and has been just tearing it up (24hrs) in minors at Round Rock. He was being held down due to some rules concerning time spent in majors, when the clock starts, owning controlling rights, something like that.
They are going to work him out at 1st, some outfield as well. Defense below average, offense WAY above.
Tucker is beginning to heat up as well.
We could use another lefty pitcher though.

Go Stros!

He found out he was diabetic in his late 40s after a major heart attack and has been mostly down hill from there. He was always in great shape so the docs never suspected the beetus.
Caught it too late in the game. It's just getting to hard for him to do anything away from the house now.

I understand that as I am in his same class, and it is a bitch to get up every morn and deal with it and deal with things you use to do and cannot anymore...my heart goes out to him as I know how he feels, I wanted to go and do more but, I can't, maybe a motorized wheel chair would get him out more, he could go some places easier..take care of him, he's the only Dad you will ever have!

Amen to this. I lost my dad on May 30th. He was 86. I just left the cemetery visiting him. I have a big hole in my heart with him being gone.

My father died on April 17th the week after his 93rd birthday had his memorial on May 11th. I talked to him on his birthday and he told me his cancer had mestasized and his hospice care was starting the next day. I knew he didn't have much longer to live. It was for the best I guess.

interesting that all this talk about fathers is on Father's day week.
