Never really thought about this before, but the VP in this election actually seems to have ramifications. Just wondering if there is a potential chess match to be played here between Trump and Hillary. Unless I am missing something, if I am Trump, I wait until the deadline to announce, having multiple candidates on tap to select depending on Hillary's VP and the political wind at the time of the deadline, as well as reduce the time to give the opposition to prepare. In fact, I would leak a believable candidate who is pretty much totally different from who I was really intending to choose, just to add to the later advantage.

On another note, one would have to wonder about Hillary choosing Bernie as a running mate. For one, it seems Bernie is really gaining a lot of political power that would be wasted as VP, when compared to what he could do as a Senator. Secondly, if I am Hillary,I am pretty sure I wouldn't want to be in the position of standing between "the burn" and the Presidency with his looney band of miscreants. Say what you will about the ardent Trump followers, but they seem to be hard working, law abiding folks for the most part, where those responsible for most of the riots in this country the last several years seem to be what constitutes a large portion of the Bernie supporters - "Bernie Babies", if you will.
