So the other thread about the B1G getting ready to agree to a deal for half of their tier 1 & tier 2 rights got me to thinking. What if they are breaking those packages in half in order to trigger the next round of realignment?
They sign half of their rights with Fox (which is already their partner in the conference network so they're getting a sweet deal). Then they'll be able to show future partners the value they can offer. Then, once they lure in OU, FSU, Notre Dame or somebody else of that ilk, they will be able to demand even more money for the second half of their tier 1 & 2 rights.
