Bad targeting call

I was against Ohio State getting a spot in the playoffs but they sure look like they belong tonight. Fields looks great. Sermon is a beast glad to see him healthy. He was great for us as a true freshman before injuries caused him to lose a step and then his knee injury. When healthy he’s always been a nasty runner.
It’s the rule though. Defender can’t lead with the crown of his helmet. I don’t agree with it but it is the rule.
They need to get rid of the ejection part of the rule. Just make it a 15 yard penalty. Maybe eject if a player gets two in a game, or maybe he’s suspended a game if he gets so many in a season, but ejection after one is just stupid
That linebacker was definitely trying to put a lick on Fields and did. Yeah the rules are a little too much these days
Literally what was the defender supposed to do? He didn't really have to move. So his shoulder should have been slightly turned more?

Nah. There was one in I think Franklins 1st yr at PSU. LB was diving for an INT, it went through his hands. The Michigan receiver is late getting ther and his head and neck hit the shoulder pad of the PSU LB. PSU LB ejected for targeting.
He was supposed to keep his head up. You’re never taught to make a tackle with eyes towards the ground.
Players hit with their head down all the time without getting targeting called. The biggest problem to me is helmets are big. They take up space. It's really hard to not have part of your helmet make at least some contact.
Maybe it's just me, but those Fansville commercials have an Aggy vibe to them.
Just like guys hold all the time but don’t get called for it. Like I said I hate the rule as well but it is what it is. They need to do away with the ejection rule and it wouldn’t be as bad.
For anybody questioning the call go checkout the tackle that Ryan Shazier made that ended his football career. This is the exact reason they are trying to get this out of football. It’s dangerous for the defender as well.
Your career could be ended on almost any play for any number of reasons. Take away the ejection and make it a 15 yard penalty? Fine.
Go back and read what I said in the thread. I literally just said everything you did. I don’t agree with it but I understand from a safety perspective. I also do t agree with the ejection either.
