Anyone hear about this and understand it? Please explain for us dummies.

It's basically all the games for the teams that are not Tx or ou that are not televised. They are being offered for 4.95 a month on the watch espn format.

I remember back in the day when I had to pay 12.99 just watch Texas play Tulane in NO cause the main Network wasn't carrying it, and another game too, I think it was Baylor in Waco, its that Blackout game money crap gone modern

.95It's third tier rights. So Texas and OU already have theirs taken. They announced this last week, and our softball series in Lawrence already had two games on ESPN plus. This also includes games on the SEC Network plus. Some stuff shows up there, though less Longhorn competitions will.

Last week, OU's women's gymnastics team who is ranked 1st, went to the regionals at UGa, and the only place to watch was SEC +. So I plunked down my $4.95 for SEC + and then used it this week for two softball games in Lawrence. Not sure why they didn't televise game two of the series, but it was nowhere.

So you guys will run into some of this stuff in the road games in the conference in baseball, softball and likely track and soccer. I suspect most swim meets are on LHN.

But since your softball team is pretty good this year, and likely headed to the playoffs, some of that might show up on ESPN + as might some baseball.

Filming is dirt cheap now. Putting content on TV isn't cheap but Streaming is dirt cheap. Content providers pay for the broadcast rights for various different sports but for some things it just wasn't cost effective enough to put on TV. Now they put together little streaming packages and make money off the content. With 5G just around the corner you are going to see more and more of this.

You can't get SEC Network programming on ESPN+. SEC Network+ is the overflow digital channel for SECN.

You can get SEC programming for free on WatchESPN if you have a subscription to SECN. But that's a different app than ESPN+.
