Well looks like Sark is going with Thompson this Saturday to start the game. Not like it's going to give us a true read anyways. I really hate the back and forth with QBs. I say if we aren't set up to win this year then why not pick a guy and go with it.

Give Casey a shot, he deserves it. He played well last year in the bowl game and then looked better last game. He seems to be a little bit of a gamer. If nothing else he seems to be more willing to scramble and that might help slow some pass rushes down since our O line is leaky.

Casey has watched Sam's toughness for several years and he is the closest thing to that toughness we have and that we desperately need. In addition, this team needs major upperclassmen leadership-I hope that Casey fills that role.

It showed when he went up against 3 defenders to get in the endzone and lowered his shoulder, I was like this kid could get hurt but, I see the grit and him waiting his time

We got manhandled all game but if we don’t score there it would have been the most defeating, humiliating icing on the cake. Casey gets the start for that play alone.

I agree we did, could of Sark made an adjustment earlier by putting in Casey, I think so. Casey had been waiting in the wings for the big time stage for a long time and got to see now a Texas Legend in front of him. Casey would of fed off the environment. Don't forget he has been around blowu all his life, so he has seen some games.

Casey should have been the starter against LA.

I also think it's time to make some changes in the lines. I get it the one who plays hardest in practice starts whether he's the best player or not. But ultimately it's the one who produces the most on the field that should start. Jaylin Ford and Alfred Collins should be starting on defense. I mean Brockermeyer punked out with that fake injury. And we have to make changes in the ol the upperclassmen are not getting it done on the field. Move some players around bench those who have to be benched whatever it takes.

How did he not know that Card wouldn't get killed by our swiss cheese oline? It puzzles me that it took this game against arkansas to figure this out. He should have known Casey was better suited to our oline play. All he had to do was watch Sam run for his life on last years tape. Not good.

Last week everyone was singing Card's praises. Card has the tools, just not the mentality yet. You don't find that out until live fire.

I'm all for using whoever gives us the best chance to move the ball.

Hopefully Card takes this experience and uses it as motivation to continue developing into a future star. Gilbert won praise after Colt went down then went all ptsd on us the following season.

I think Card is the better QB long term, but I think Thompson’s ability to scramble will hide some of the weakness on the OL

Card also missed 3 wide open sure TD’s Saturday. You just can’t do that.

Card just aint ready. he made some great throws in week one but he missed every single throw against piggy.

I agree with this. I will say though if Sark believes Card is the guy eventually it’s a little early to pull the plug.

Clob........you think that was more for the team than it was the fanbase?
Educated guess----- yes. I think he talked those kids into believing they were going to beat arky, and the got creamed. So he needs a stabilizing agent so they can get back to work and focus on Rice-- not a QB controversy.

But do it in the locker room. Don't tell Rice. This also tells me that he's seriously concerned about our chances with Rice.

Coaches are paranoid by nature. Saban tries to convince everyone that Mercer had a real chance.
