Only if you are a moron you get rid of the best AD I've witnessed at Texas. The one thing I have witnessed in all levels of sports is that winning starts at the top. In pro sports it starts at the top with coaching/GM/Owners in the college level it starts with coaches/ADs.
We have a good AD, let him do his job and Texas will start winning.
You have to remember he didn’t hire Herman. Also if he didn’t think there was a better candidate right now available then I trust him. Also may have taken into effect the cost of the buy out. With the recent hires he has made I can promise you when the time comes to get rid of Herman and bring someone else in I have all the trust in the world he will bring the right guy in.He had 3 yrs going on 6, how much longer with Herman...we are not winning!

The athletic director has the biggest hand in going out in finding candidates. Like I said CDC didn’t hire TH so blaming this on him is asinine. The University hired Herman and Herman works for UT not CDC! Then everybody shouldn't bitch at losing....right...we should just keep on losing, when ya got a losing disease then ya try to cure it not feed it...

No one is blaming him, but its his fault he let it go so long and didn't do nothing when he should have..now he's guilty by association.. I guess... when it comes down to it, it doesn't make a crap who hired Herman , CDC is his boss now and he can hire and fire him, its too late to hide behind that didn't hire him stuff...I know hes a good AD that got hired into a shit situation...
He didn’t let it go so long. He had an ultimatum and that was Urban Meyer or bust. He put the ball in Urban’s court to make the decision and ultimately Urban said no. Can’t blame him for trying. No one is blaming him, but its his fault he let it go so long and didn't do nothing when he should have..now he's guilty by association.. Word on the street (just read it on hornsports) that TH was lobbying for the S Carolina job, and that the relationship between him and CDC is not good at all.
Sounds like this is far from over.........1 day from early recruiting day.
What a dumpster fire.
I really don't understand all the adulation on this board for CDC I really don't. C'mon women's softball and hoops is nice but at TX it comes down to fb, baseball, and men's hoops in that order. And he hasn't made any of those hires yet. So let's tap the breaks.
I really resent the way he handled the Tom Herman affair. He made a public, somewhat humiliating, attempt at hiring Urban Meyer. No matter what you think of TH no coach deserves how CDC, the bmd, the athletic council handled this. When CDC makes a big hire I hope he's learned a lesson.
And then he gives a statement that wasn't even a lukewarm endorsement of TH that came a week after the last game. He was forced by the press to give a definite answer if TH was coming back. And these people who embarrassed TH in this affair don't realize that what they did more than anything was hurt TX fb.
And now 3 more players have opted out of the bowl game. The uncertain future has caused a 4* qb transfer and who knows how many more will xfr. Oh today our best receiver has said he'll probably leave for the NFL. As of now were still in the hunt for 2 borderline 5* players but I won't be surprised if they go somewhere else. can you blame them? I don't know maybe this is the bmd way of getting back at TH for the EoT. But like I said all they did was hurt TX fb.
And I lay all of this at the feet of CDC.

I think there is a reasonable chance TH and Texas part ways this year if it is that bad between he and CDC. One of CDC' s greatest skills is getting donors to donate. Maybe they are holding on to get past the first signing period so they don't lose a whole class. I don't know...I just think CDC's press release about TH bring the coach lacked clarity for a guy who is well known for communication skills. I think there is still another play in the works.
You're a sooner you should be spending your time thinking about ISU than talking about your hated rivals coaching situation. Myself I never go on another schools board why should I? But if I go on sooner scoop they're probably laughing at us. Most people on here don't care what any sooner thinks.
Ok. I am just talking football, nothing more. I have visited this site for years and get along with most just fine. I made an observation about the coaching situation that I think may be overlooked. Earlier in my life I always rooted against Texas. Now I only root against them when their outcome specifically affects OU. I know most are not like that, and that is fine with me. But there is no need to try to impose your point of view on me or talk down to me for simply "talking" sports.
Unfortunately for TH, he is in no position to be complaining. If he is a little uncomfortable or insecure about the Urban talk, he simply must deal with it. He himself has caused a lot of unnecessary headaches for CDC, so if anybody is deserving of pissed offedness, it is CDC. Many Texas fans are still scratching their heads over the ISU game where he fake punted and went for it on 4th when he could have kicked a field goal. He has been at Texas for 4 years and no Big 12 Championships and is 1-4 against ou. We all wish things were different, but they are not and nobody is feeling sorry for TH, so he just better have his hat in his hand when CDC is anywhere nearby.Word on the street (just read it on hornsports) that TH was lobbying for the S Carolina job, and that the relationship between him and CDC is not good at all.
