Let's say Charlie pulls off a 9 plus win scenario. Does LSU come after him knowing he rebuilt 2 different programs plus loved by Texas and Florida high school coaches? Recruiting wouldn't be an issue.

First, we aren't going to win 9 games, second, LSU won't even get CS an interview !

Bubba needs a drank.

I drink plenty at night. If I even have the wherewithal to post at night, you'll notice I am a lot more mellow. You have to admit that this is a sill topic regardless of where you fall on the Strong spectrum though.

they haven't exceeded or failed my expectations, yet. I had Stillwater as a coin flip pre-season and I still do. One game at a time.

I just meant silly from the losing him standpoint. Either Strong gets it done and we aren't losing him to anyone, or he doesn't in which case no one wants him. There is no in between.

Of course. Why else would LSU fire Les mid season. Book it. Contract is done, just needs a signature. I thought I was the only one that knew about this.

If we win Saturday we will win 9 at least
Yeah.....not so confident about that. Our signature win is over a much MUCH overhyped ND that took us through 2 OTs and has been throttled ever since. Cal took us to the woodshed yet got whipped by Sisters of the Poor. Our O can score but everything else is on life support. Let's see what we look like in Dallas first.

Learn to temper expectations. It's part of the game and attrition that comes with CFB.

I think he's lost some shine and it's partially because Texas had such mammoth success for so long (10+ wins for like 9 years right?) that his progress, while immense in real time, just looks small in comparison to what his goal is.

If I get hired by a company to increase their sagging sales and I double the revenue from $100,000 to $200,000 a year that's an amazing feat.

But if that company is Apple, $200,000 a year is horseshit and I'll look like a shitty CEO even though I came in AFTER the last CEO shit the bed and sales plummeted to $100k. The Longhorns aren't that bad, but my point is that every time he loses a game or slips up, people see that he's not in his 3rd 10 win season and think "Why not? He's at Texas. How can you not win there?!?"

I'm not sure anyone sees him as a program rebuilder at the moment. Even if he IS making strides and all the right moves.

Also, assuming I'm wrong and LSU is literally foaming at the mouth for Strong, lol at anyone who thinks LSU can come up with the cash to steal him from Texas. The only way someone outbids Texas is if Texas already decided he wasn't worth the money.

ND struggles have nothing to do with Texas future games.

LSU hired a defensive guy in Miles. The offense at lsu has struggled for years. They are going after an offensive guy.

Book it.

Clob I agree with LSU will be looking for an offensive guy but I think that maybe that's what they thought they were getting with Miles because that's all he's ever coached. Maybe his mindset at LSU was defense but he's always coached on the offensive side of the ball.

When the mad hatter came to lsu he had zero experience coaching D. He was an offensive lineman at Michigan and coached oline, tight ends etc throughout his career. An oline coach does not an offensive coordinator make..... he was a man that taught "physicality". He wanted you bruised and black an blue after you played his team-- win or lose. I think we can ALL agree that a les miles coached team is going to beat you up. You're a fool if you think otherwise.
Well, being physical translates MOST on defense. Yes, you can have a physical offense-- much like he played in during his college years under Bo. Physical, tough, hard nosed teams at Michigan that would bat you up on BOTH sides of the ball.

Does anyone believe his current offense isn't physical? The problem is, as hard as his young men are, they lack the "nuances" of modern college offenses. The Era of smash mouth football without offensive nuances is over. And it sucks.

I figured that's what you were saying in your previous post just wasn't sure.
