According to Cowerd reporting on his live show so I couldn’t find a link...

Does that change our search for SUC’s OC?

55 year old got tired of the grind so he stepped down into and administrative role and pushed one of his long time assistants to the head job. If I were CDC I would send out some feelers to gauge interest in a return sometime over summer.

WOW

I did not see this coming. Since I live out here I follow the Pac XII closely and I had no inkling of what was going on at WA. Most of the coaching rumors out here are about Clay Helton and recently there have been stories about David Shaw at ST.

I follow WA as close as any non TX team. Chris Petersen is closed mouth you never know what he's thinking he says very little. But the last 3 years WA has not played as well they should have. On offense he's kept better players on the bench. He was outcoached against ST and CO teams with losing records.

But Jimmy Lake is a top notch dc and recruiter. Can he be a top notch hc is the million dollar question. They have talent Chris Petersen has sent a lot of good players to the NFL who are flourishing they've sent just as many dbs to the NFL as LSU but they don't brag about it like LSU does.

A tip of the hat to Chris Petersen he was a solid coach. And I will always have fond memories of New Years night 2007 Bose State vs Oklahoma and the statue of liberty a play that hadn't been used in 70 years. What a play call huh Belldozer?

This is why OU will never win a Natty, cause they always F*vk it up!

I would love to have Chris Peterson as a coach here. Maybe it might just work out that Tom gets fired next year and we can bring him in. May be just wishful thinking.

Well it was certainly disheartening to say the least. Not defending Stoops either because we scored enough points to win that game but that OU team actually overachieved beyond anyone’s expectations. Making a BCS game with the qb turned wr, repurposed again as a qb , Paul Thompson, I’m still surprised we had a winning record much less a BCS appearance.

Peterson seems like a solid guy but it seems clear he’s lost the fire, I believe they were barely bowl eligible this year
Uh yeah, I don’t know why Texas fans would be clamoring for a guy that took a program in much better shape than Texas down to a worse record than Herman, AND THEN QUIT!

Maybe a change of atmosphere would be good for him. It’s would be a lot easier to convince to come to Texas than it would be to come to Washington. Like I said I know it’s just a pipe dream. But if Herman was fired tomorrow he would definitely be at the top of my list.

What you need to know about Chris Petersen. He's from and played his college ball in the Sacramento area where I live. He's a born and raised west coast guy.

Since 1993 all of his coaching stints have been in OR, ID, and WA and being familiar with the man it makes perfect sense. Every part of the country has it's own identity, it's own personality, when it comes to college ball. In other words Chris Petersen is a Pacific Northwest guy through and through. And it also means that although CP is an outstanding and at times a great coach TX would be the worst possible place for him.

Trivial pursuits Did you know that the great Darrell Royal coached at WA? That's right for 1 year and then he went to TX and the rest is history.
