Colt McCoy is back

Hate to see Alex Smith break his leg. This is a great opportunity for Colt. I hope that he takes full advantage of it!

Well,as a cowboy fan he can wait awhile but now he will start in 4 days for the redskins against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day in Arlington,Tx.I do not think he has played much since 2015.

Yes, I want Colt to do well in every game except for Thursday's Turkey Day game.

Man, he looked good with all things considered. He ran a bit reckless but can't blame him for trying to make the most of it.

He'll start the remainder of this season.

GO Colt. I used to be a Cowboy fan.... I have changed to the Vikings and Chiefs.

Edit: Speaking of the Vikings. You will no get a more classic look than the Vikings vs Bears at Soldier field on Monday Night FB. Grass field. Cold weather. Classic Uni's. Enjoy the look, season is over too quickly.

Colt Mcccoy did great things while he was the quarterback here and I really enjoyed watching him play. But as a lifelong die hard Cowboys fan I hope he throws 5 ints on Thanksgiving day!

He just extended his backup NFL QB career another 3-5 years.

I hope you are right, Scholz, because I like Colt - a lot! He gave his heart to UT, and I counted the time, hoping that Colt would be eligible for NFL retirement, and he is - as of three years ago, plus I was wishing the same for Jordan Shipley.

Also, I have been a Cowboy Fan since inception, '60, but I must root for a great performance by Colt. I have always hoped and dreamed that Colt would have the opportunity to shine against whomever, even if it were against my Cowboys. ---- Colt > (trumps) Cowboys.

Sam Houston's dying words were, "Texas, my Texas!"

Isn't backup QB in the NFL the greatest job ever? You cash 3 million dollar checks every year, you don't get the crap beat out of you which means when you want to hang up the cleats you can actually do that for yourself, if and when you do play nobody expects great things because you are the backup. You don't get a ton of reps in practice but you get all of the benefits of being an NFL player such as trainer, food prep, etc...I've got to think that has to be one of the best jobs there is to have.

I'm gonna have to take a break from my NFL boycott for this one. I'll be torn, pulling for Colt and the Cowboys. From what I'm hearing about injuries on the OL, it doesn't look good for Colt.

Interesting to see Colt and Peterson in the same backfield, the way it should've been a long time ago if not for the worst decision of Peterson's life.

Colt is a class act. Sooner QB's should take notes on Colt on how to conduct themselves as a player and a person on and off of the field.

To be fair, they could also learn from Colt's buddy Sam Bradford. Good kid, but these recent OU QBs didn't seem to learn from even their own. Nothing but garbage.

Yeah Sam looked like complete garbage for the few games he played for my Cardinals. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Great guy but bad NFL QB. And I thought he was gonna be great in the NFL.

I don’t know any of these fellas personally. I guess this it’s like reading the cover of a book. Kids are changing all the time. Twitter wars and fans claiming twitter winners. Stupid
Ok Cool Hook em. Brilliant how did he think of that?

It is a great job, and Colt does an even greater job of filling it - plus Colt is a very good person to have in your locker room. He helps the team in many subtle ways, by being a student of the game (coach's son) and setting a great example of the consummate, quiet professional, who is pretty darned proficient when called upon to help his team. I predict he will make a very good coach, someday - he reminds me of a young Tom Landry, and you can tell that football really is his business.
