This is a long shot, but what the hell. Its the off-season.
I was just elected to the board of our HOA, and this is what I get thrown. We have a medium sized gated community in Houston. Just inside one of our gates, we have one of those community mailbox setups. Apparently, someone has gotten access to our neighborhood gates codes (not a shocker), but they also must have a master mailbox key. A couple times over the past 5 months, someone has come in, opened up all the mailbox panels and stolen mail and packages.
We even had one neighbor's camera caught the two guys and their make/model of car. All furnished to the police, who have done nothing (not a shocker). Also reported at this to the USPS, who have done nothing.
I thought there might be other folks who have run into this with their HOA. Just looking for options. Will the USPS change the mailbox locks? Someone has their key so this should be on them to resolve. Thanks. for your time...
