Congrats Scottie!!

Scottie Scheffler (former Longhorn) wins his first PGA tournament today after 3 playoff holes.
He has been threatening over the past year but finally broke through today.
Congrats and Hook Em!
That was a clutch 25 footer to seal the win.

I thought for sure Cantlay would make his putt to keep the playoff alive but he missed it on the high side. Cantlay missed a prior putt from the same spot also on the high side so I’m surprised he gave up the hole a second time.

And a cool $1.476mil to along with it.

Was disheartened to see Theegala falter down the stretch and finish tied for 3rd after getting in on a sponsors exemption. But the $436k will easy that pain for him. Just shows how tough it is to win at that level in those big moments.
The crowd was crazy all weekend, especially on the 16th. When that guy made a hole in one, both the tee box and green were pelted with full beer cans! Party foul. But it was probably only Budlight.

Theegala is a cool story. Still lives at home in SoCal and drove to Scottsdale in his older VW. TV cameras caught him and parents very emotional after the final round. Nice to see someone appreciative for the opportunity.

Scottie win’s another. Am I yammering?

Those back to back Par saves on (I think) 15 and 16 was some clutch scrambling. I think it was on 15 where he duffed his shot out from behind that magnolia and then had to gouge it out of that 6" rough to put it to 21' for par. He nailed that putt. Clutch.
