I think this is a scam, back in the days of old, we had 3 coaches max, HC, Ass't "{ Send it in Red!] Coach and equipment managers, its a sign of weakness to have so many coaches, if ya got all these bases covered then what is the HC supposed to do? I guess next we will hire a Team Bathroom Consultant or a Dirty Jock Consultant to help the team win or does it ever stop? Maybe they put this position in so people could have a paycheck that they were Friends with,or Debts that owed from Coaching together elsewhere before Texas..Wonder if they have a Consultant to scout the Snatch around the main Office! You don't need a Consultant to teach a Duck to swim....

I'm not sure on the job description or exact duties, but I have seen in some listed high school football coaching duties for a coach as being the "enthusiasm coach". To each their own, but when the coaching staff outnumbers the number of players on the team, it kinda goes too far. To complain about it, though, one needs to make a conference appointment with the assistant to the assistant of the assistant athletic directors communications secretary.

When my father tried out for the UT baseball team, about 1939, there was one coach, Billy Disch. The team had 10 uniforms and scholarships. 8 position players and 2 pitchers. He didn't make the team.

One year the Dallas Mavericks hired ex NBA Player Clifford Ray as an assistant coach. His duty? Stay with Roy Tarpley 24 hours a day to make sure he stayed clean. One job! Lasted a year.
