So, I know things are really unpredictable and parts will depend on other schools' HC hires and the resultant vacancies at coordinators and all that.

But hey, everything sounds like the goal is for this to happen REAL fast. So if we have a day or two until we know how it's going to turn out, anyone want to make a fun guess or two about who all we end up with for which jobs?

I don't know any inside information on who is available, who is qualified.... I was pretty upset with Norvell yesterday, but, having a restful night to cool down, I have a couple of thoughts.

Norvell: He wouldn't be my first choice because I don't think he is "his own man" on offensive philosophy. However, it was unfair of me to consider him incompetent (at this point) because I have no clue as to the political climate within the coaching ranks under Strong. It could very well be that WatsonWickline were doing their own thing and didn't respond to new leadership. The season was probably unfolding with no proper structure and dysfunctional simply because the top offensive coaches have their way of doing things and were checking out of the program at season's end. Norvell was in a position similar to an employee being promoted over his former boss and having to get the old boss to do his job. Even as professional as Watson/Wickline may be, they could receive the orders from Norvell, but, not necessarily go full throttle on his wishes. If this is the case, Texas would lack the little things necessary to get the most out of an offense.

Traylor: He could very well be the future OC. Maybe not this go around, but, after a couple more years with collegiate experience we will know a lot. If Cumbie or whoever comes in, we all know it would be a two year temporary career move. At this point, Strong will know if Traylor is up for it. It is clear that he knows how to run a program (high school-I know) my only requirement would be that he is anal retentive and has a history of being anal retentive in his approach to his leadership and details.
