Was firing off a bunch of texts and DMs today on the Beck stuff and got a couple interesting responses from people who offered up their opinion of him as an OC:
"Person close to Beck) said OSU was a bad situation because you have two OCs in Warinner and Beck. But Urban keeps his hand in the offense so it was a cluster."
"Beck will be a good hire. Can recruit and he's a smart offensive mind. Nebraska, Ohio State and Texas don't hire him because he's below average."
I asked a media source who has covered Beck what he thought since there's a pretty wide variance of opinions among fans ...
"Just depends how much responsibility Tom puts on him. He is a good recruiter. I would imagine Tom runs the (offensive) show."
Nothing earth-shattering, just passing along some opinions.
FYI, I highly doubt the hiring of Beck will have an impact on Ohio State commitments like JK Dobbins and/or Baron Browning, but I'll try to check on that after today's Army Bowl practice.
