He finally lost his battle with leukemia today. He was a good interviewer but mostly it was his clothes. He reminded me of the the Herb Tarlick character on WKRP in Cincinnati. Nobody but Sager could wear that and get away with it. It would have been offensive to see anybody else wear it. But you saw him and you enjoyed it. And he was great fun with the players. In more than 35 years on TNT Sager never had the opportunity to do an NBA Finals game. I thought it was classy of ABC to let Sager do Game 6 last year and it was big of Doris Burke to step aside for one game especially since it could have been the title clinching game. I'm happy for him and his wife and children that he's not suffering anymore.
