The biggest difference is that OSU coaches changed their run blocking scheme after the Michigan loss. They weren't stubborn and said we'll just keep running the same crap that hasn't been working. For all the talk of big OL, we don't run downhill almost at all and then we have so little confidence in the big guys we don't even try to run it in on the one yard line.
