Early voting starts on Monday.

I think this is the most important state wide race of the year. Of course I also don't see either Greg nor Patrick at risk

Want to make the case for Dr Dawn Buckingham who is running for the Texas General Land office, and to be our Land Commissioner. This office was very poorly run by P Bush after year's of great success for Texas by Marine Jerry Patterson.

This office impacts our public lands, O&G drilling, land rights in Texas, wildlife, coastal conservation (protecting from hurricanes) law enforcement including border support and most important to me, the highest ranking elected office with a major impact on Veterans. It is the oldest public agency in the state.

Let's do some resumes 1st, starting with Dr Buckingham.

  • A medical Doctor by profession
  • TEXAS grad, Magna Cum Laude grad
  • 1st Republican elected to Texas Senate from Travis County (2016)
  • Voted MVP her 1st term in the Senate
  • Strong Veteran Advisory board
  • 7th Generation Texan
  • Volunteer Fire Fighter
She supports the infrastructure needed along the coast to protect homeowners and businesses.
She wants to see Texas land (which directly impacts the PEF funds) used as it has been for decades to allow drilling
She has an aggressive program to curb P's screw up with the Texas Veteran Land Board

Her opponent is Jay Kleberg

  • Claims to be a proud Democrat though he ran in 2016 as a Republican
  • Great grandson of the King Ranch family, resume shows he's never held a real job.
  • Basically grew up with a silver spoon and has never held a real job, undergraduate degree from the same Liberal East Coast private school as Beto Beto
  • MBA McCombs
  • 6th generation Texan
  • Associate Director of Texas Parks & Wildlife (not sure if this was a paid position)
  • Website used to state he stood proudly with Biden's energy policies, has since been changed (will share a direct quote from his website in a minute)
  • Makes lots of promises of what he will do for veterans but when asked, has no clue how to implement.
  • Was somehow attached to the Deep in the Heart of Texas movie with MM. Film making can be fun when you are rich
  • Opposes the GLO's Coastal Management plan (per his site: $30B in planned investments to fortify the coast as part of the Coastal Spine are based on models that do not include climate change––rendering the plans obsolete on arrival)
  • His solution to energy is to replace/limit oil & gas production and replace it with more "green energy"
  • Climate Nazi, thinks the science is settled
  • Wife currently working for Beto Beto
From his site:

Texas emits nearly two times more carbon than any other state in the country. We are the number one carbon dioxide emitter in the nation and rank 9th in per capita carbon dioxide emissions. We see the effects of climate change every day: extreme heat, drought, more wildfires, unpredictable weather patterns, increased hurricanes and tornadoes, and a decrease in crop yields. The communities most impacted by the current Land Commissioner’s inaction and denial of the science behind climate change are the ones who can least afford it.

Early voting begins on Monday, join me in supporting Dr Dawn Buckingham. And yes, I am a proud member of her Veteran Advisory Committee.
