Do the Dems actually have a real political strategy beyond "Win first and figure it out later?"

In 2020 the Democrats, wary of the popularity of Bernie Sanders among many younger voters, his being an independent type whose message they feared they could not control and having a policy proposal that was far to left wing to get elected conspired to derail his campaign in favor of Joe Biden. Biden, already nearing senility, was a more dependable party apparatchik with whom they felt they could craft a more centrist message and counter Trump's populist message.
Now, a scant four years later after that plan blew up in their face, and Trump poised to regain the White House, the Dems panicked again. This time they conspired to dispose of the now totally vacant Biden and replace him on the ticket with Kamala Harris, an utter lightweight that they felt would at least offer a punchers (pardon the pun) chance.
Now it turns out that Harris is far left of the same Bernie Sanders whose leftism scared the poop out of them in 2020. And they have kept her hidden for weeks in order to disguise what she really is. So, the question is what is the political platform and what do these people really believe in. It appears after her recent economic policy proposals that they have abandoned any semblance of policy integrity in favor of a win now and figure it out later plan.
