Rivals250 EDGE Dre Quinn will commit to either Texas or Clemson today. That much is known. And that's about the only thing that's a definite in this one as of right now.
I've asked Quinn if he knows a commitment time, but haven't received a response. Our friends at Tiger Illustrated heard yesterday it would be around 3:30.
All the chatter I've heard this week has centered on Clemson aside, but we continue to hear that there's a level of confidence in Austin. Maybe Quinn is keeping both sides in the dark? Maybe he's sending mixed signals? Not sure, but however this one shakes out, it seems like one side will have misread things.
I have had a FutureCast pick in for Texas going back to early May. That was more based on a hunch after Quinn visited Texas in the spring than it was any real concrete information. I had a feeling at that time Texas would be a strong contender so I put that pick in when doing a round of picks for my 3-2-1 column. I'm going to leave it alone despite having some serious doubts today, considering all the Clemson buzz that seems to be floating around.
