This is a great write up by Chris Arnade focusing on the counties across the country suffering most with the opioid crisis and their part in the Trump vote.
Arnade started off this project writing about addition in this country but quickly saw there was much more going on.
While people suffering in these areas got some focus around election time they were quickly moved aside on more partisan issues. On the last days of the last admin we can lots of headlines championing the economy Trump inherits and all I could think of was these communities.
20/20 did a great program on the real American economy 10 days ago. I strongly recommend it.
