Was wondering how those of you in California feel about the recent quakes. Just another day or time to prep for the big one?
I've felt a handful of smaller earthquakes here and there but the quake we felt Friday night was a whole new experience for us.
A small group of us have been in Vegas for the week and we're waiting to watch the show Celeste at the Stratosphere. While on a craps table I felt a little wobbly a few times and thought I needed to slow down on the cocktails and get off my feet for a few. So I sat down on a blackjack table. Little did I know those vibrations were small warmups to the big show.
About 2 hands in the table started rocking, lights flickering, signs and hanging decor were slamming back and forth. No question at that point it was an earthquake. I immediately grabbed my chips and B-lined it to the exit because it donned on me there was a huge tower of concrete above my head.
We felt aftershocks every couple minutes for the next hr or so. I can't imagine how it felt up top on the BigShot ride.
I heard it was a 7.1 in Cali and registered roughly 6.1 in Vegas. Earthquakes, wildfires, landslides, high taxes and socialists, oh my. I don't know how you guys can deal with it all over there. Y'all are a special breed of people for sure.
