The NvNW game & the talk after give me a queasy feeling in the pit of my belly. I watched that game yesterday and was transported directly back to 2021 and the Horns 6 game slow-motion train wreck. If you watched too, tell me you don't feel the same way! Sark & the lads may be sucked in to the same black hole Saturday- I don't feel confident in Sark/coaches, o-line, qb1or2, dfront 7, db's, or special teams. I don't believe the kumbaya, we all love each other now, do it for my brother to my left and right stuff either.

I honestly believe we will be much improved. Whittington is healthy and Sanders to have more meaningful contributions on offense. I am far from being sold on the OL, but if we have just a little improvement, I will take it. If we can’t run the ball, some things will be eerily simlar to last year in how the defense will adjust in the second half. The defense should also be a little improved. More upperclassmen on DL and the new LB that should free up Overshown to put some pressure on the QBs.

It looked eerily similar because that same QB that was folding in the 2nd half of games last year did the same thing yesterday. Even though Ewers is a redshirt freshman it’s going to be a huge upgrade over the QB play from last season just because of his arm talent.

Yeppers, losing Nayor really stung though. Imagine having to defend against Nayor, Worthy, Whitt, Bijon & RJ on the field all at once. We still have a potentially potent offense if our line can keep Ewers jersey clean.

One can never have enough reviewers in football.

and our QB1 has not thrown a game day pass in 2 years.

I'd like to get your opinion on some more stuff related to the team:

Their ability to find the stadium
If the have accurately forecasted the amount of gatorade needed
If the coaches have accurately identified the correct combinations of polos and khakis.
If they have gotten the play sheet laminated

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that you're a glass is half full kind of guy.

I think playing UTSA right after Bama fits all 3 words in this thread title.
 
I think Texas is going to be improved from last year for sure. I think they play Bama hard next week. I could see a game within 14 points. I see Texas going 9-3 and I think that would be a great season. I haven't see a lot of Big 12 teams that look scary right now. I think Baylor and OU are pretty good, but they are beatable. OSU is pretty good, but nothing special. I think you guys could have a pretty good season.
 
UTSA’s qb is very good and experienced. Our D looked like a different D last night, but they still have to prove they can contain a mobile qb. I’ll have to see it to believe it before going out on too far of a limb for them. I still think we win.

If Texas goes 9-3 they’ll bring in the #1 recruiting class in 2023 most likely

We’re gonna be UTSA folks. Don’t get me wrong they are a good team, but we will win and it won’t be particularly close.

This last 10 years has really scarred us so I get not trusting this team. But I think we finally have a QB that can take us to the next level. If the defense just plays like a top 50 defense this season we should have no problems with UTSA. Their defense didn’t look that great yesterday. I think we are 2-1 heading to Lubbock in week 4.

Utsa is better coached, better OL and a better QB and skill players than ULM. Our D hasn’t stopped a mobile qb in how many years? I think we win, but it won’t be easy

We stopped a mobile QB in the last game of the season last year in that Kansas State game. Although last night doesn’t count that was a mobile QB as well.

I agree with UTSA having a lot better offense than ULM. But what I saw from their defense yesterday didn’t impress me at all. I think we easily put 40 points on them.

It is easy to forget about our firepower on offense only because, in the past, our OL was the great equalizer in negating the advantage. But, I can see 40 pts. Utsa is a little more dangerous because they “believe”.

Agree. Seems to be the same as last year with the SEC. There's Alabama and Georgia, and other than them, nothing special and all of the rest are beatable.

I’m with you though on our defense. They looked good last night but that’s not enough to sell me on them being improved from last season.
