We heard rumors going around today that five-star 2016 signee Erick Fowler had "signed with Navarro Junior College."
In checking with multiple sources, this may technically be true, but it does not mean he isn't still expected to enroll at Texas this fall. Sometimes, players in precarious grade situations sign with a junior college during the process in case things fall through with their D1 offer. It's referred to as double-signing. If Erick Fowler does not play at Texas in 2016, he will play at Navarro Junior College. That much we know for sure.
With that said, some sources connected to the NJC program seem to have basically written off the idea of Fowler coming to Navarro as they believe he is set to qualify at Texas based on knowledge available to them today.
Let's put it this way: as of August 5th, 2016 it would be a nice and somewhat unexpected surprise for NJC to land Erick Fowler.
