If he wanted to be a 1st round pick? yes. But if he just wanted to go pro he would be taken at least by the 3rd. Dak got drafted in the 3rd and hes doing ok

Dak was a 4th round pick but the point still stands. The hit rate for QBs outside of the first round is less than 5% though.

There's also a stat out there that says guys who start at least 25 college games have a 75% more chance to succeed at the NFL level versus guys who start less than 25 games.
