That's what Lebron James said when he was told that no team had ever rebounded from being down 3 to 1 in the NBA Finals. We all know what happened. So when it comes to the Big XII 2016 season why not us? Why not the Texas Longhorns?

Oklahoma is the preseason favorite everyone knows that. But when it comes to that old cliche about It's been proven that Oklahoma can be beaten, remember we were the ones that beat them. I keep thinking about how we well prepared, how focused, we were the whole game. We never trailed and late in the game when they had a couple of opportunities to tie the game we stuffed them. I think of the first half especially the first quarter of the Baylor game also. Baylor fans complained that they were down to the their fourth string qb, but we had Tyrone Swoopes at qb so that negated their qb disadvantage. And the way that our defense was hitting especially the one delivered by PJ Locke on their qb. We finally have the makings of a good ol and a couple of rb's to go with it.

Yes, we will have a true fros at qb. Six months removed from the senior prom is how I like to put it. I saw where someone has picked us third and usually that means you will win 9 games at most. Well if this kid Buechele is merely good that's 8 wins right off the bat. If he's better that's 9 right there. Ive got my fingers crossed but I think this is the most talent we've had since the team that went to the title game in '09. Thing is almost all of if is freshman and sophomores.

I look at our offense and I see the talent at the ol and rb positions and I think there is reason to smile. And if our new hires on the offensive staff, especially Gilbert, and Mattox, are a hit then people we can be the 2014 horn frogs. Remember how they came out of nowhere on offense? In 2013, their o was as bad as ours was last year. Then hired Cumbie, and Meacham and look at what they did with Trevon Boykin. Look at how they pulled Josh Doctson from deep in depth chart and turned him into an AA and first round draft choice. Do you see the real possibilities in this if Gilbert and Mattox are coaches of this caliber?

I know our defense gave up a lot of points and yards last year. But most of our best recruits the last two classes seem to be on defense. If these freshman and sophomores keep pushing each other there will be talent and lots of it. Barring injury Malik Jefferson is going to be off the charts. I'm certain that two of these dt studs we signed in February are going to be in the starting lineup by the time the TCU game rolls around. I think the same thing about Brandon Jones at safety. And this LSU kid that recently came aboard is bound to be an improvement at the kicker position.

So there you have it. I'm not some kind of motivational speaker, some cheerleader, that's bs. Football is a game for men. But it's there I think we finally have the right combination on the coaching staff. If the we bring the kind of preparation and focus that we brought into our most recent game, Baylor, we can beat ND they're not some kind of monster. And neither is Oklahoma.

So when it comes to the 2016 Texas Longhorns like Lebron said

why not us?

To paraphrase DKR...

'A puppy can bite you but he'll also soil the dining room carpet 10 minutes before your dinner guests arrive.'

Hope for 8 wins and that by the end of the season our horns grow into a team that no one wants to play against.

I think our ceiling is 10-2. That's us losing to top teams like ND and OU, or beating them and dropping a game to someone we should beat (KSt., TT). Others have said this as well (including national analyst). If things click, we avoid major injuries, and show up on game day 10-2 is possible. So yes, why not us for the big12 championship?

10-2 is the ceiling, there is a floor as well. I think the floor is higher than it's been.
