The documents offer the most detailed account of Mrs. Clinton’s role from the bureau’s yearlong investigation into whether she or her aides broke the law by using a private system — clintonemail.com — to send tens of thousands of emails about government business, including classified matters.

included in the new data is what appeared to be a frantic effort by a computer specialist to delete an archive of her emails even after a congressional committee had requested they be preserved.

A specialist “had an ‘oh shit’ moment” and realized that he had not destroyed an archive of emails that was supposed to have been deleted a year earlier, according to the F.B.I. report.


That led to an additional attempt to hide by using the computer program, Bleach Bit to wipe the server.
