It's going to be enjoyable seeing OU take a step backwards. I chuckle at OU fans who diss Riley and think that Venables is going to win more games than Riley did. Not going to happen.
You act as if 10/8 is a foregone conclusion. Might want to tap the brakes on OU with an unproven rookie head coach and an average QB.
In his first full recruiting season he will top Riley’s best recruiting class at OU. Venables inherited a recruiting class in the 30’s when Riley left last year and took recruits with him, in two months time, Venables pulled the number 8 recruiting class.
Venables is starting out in stark contrast to how Riley did at OU and recruiting nationwide. Venables may not win absolutely more games than Riley due to a couple different scenarios but if you want to compare apples to apples I’m willing to bet that Venables wins at least a playoff game in the next 3 years, something that eluded Riley in embarrassing fashion.
Even with a new qb, new offense new defense and replacing alot of players I will be very surprised if OU loses more than 2 or 3 games this year. Defense will still have some issues at times I'm sure. I expect OU to start looking much different on Defense next year.

It appears that be the end of day on October 1st, we will know quite a bit about the Big 12. At least that is when I think I will have a decent handle on what we have.

Utep and Kent St. will present more problems for OU than Neb. Neb is going to make that game with OU their Super Bowl but I just don’t think they can stop the plunge Neb. Is in. KSU and TCU should be better games

Nooooo.. we were fishing for Atlantic Salmon and brown trout. Orkney is VERY remote. Hardly any people live there. And those that do are HARD folks. Very harsh conditions there and not many creature comforts.
I know, you threw me off though with the Harry loch in the town of twatt. You knew this and I knew it. 😂
