I read this today and it got me to looking around. I ran into this fantastic video of Vincent DiNino leading the Longhorn band at the service for Coach Royal. The speaker said that Royal, after a loss, said he would never again take his team on the road unless the band traveled with them. Does Texas still do this? Does the band travel to every away game? I clearly remember back in the early '80s the Texas band chartering a jet to a game at Auburn. Seems like I remember the price being $50,000. I'm sure pocket change for you all, but it sure impressed us.
