Yep, and our run game is shit without the QB run. Even if Sam can go, he could get hurt again. I don't know if he's been going to road games, but if I'm Tom, I'm making sure I got my Casey Thompson packed for this trip.
Thompson would be just what the doctor ordered if Sam gets hurt again and SB turns into a sack machine.
IMO, a mobile qb has a much better chance of surviving his first year in CFB and/or in bad/cold weather. Regardless of the oline, a runner can always improvise and break the heart of a defense while learning on the fly. A pocket passer will take way too many sacks and tfl's. I offer up USC as an example. That kid qb is getting roasted.... He is learning but his coach is about to get fired. If I am Herman, I have a short leash for SB. I would not hesitate to put in Thompson for this game considering the weather if we need to run the ball.

I think it would better to put Vince Young in,,,instead of all of them...ya get a good QB and he gets hurt and then ya start quibling over the scraps on the bench
