I assume most have jumped ship at this point, but, we none the less have a nationally televised game against a ranked team at home Sat afternoon.
Lets get the bad out of the way first. Texas doesn't do much of anything well on defense, goes conservative at the wrong times on offense, and is being out schemed on a weekly basis. We have 5 games left and need to win 3 to make a bowl game. We will likely be underdogs in all but one of those games. The KSU loss was likely the nail in the coffin for Charlie Strong.
With that said, there are paths to beating BU. We have been close in every game. BU hasn't really played anyone, still, and even in the games they have played have not looked stellar. OSU should have beaten them by a few touchdowns, but had several turnovers in the redzone. ISU nearly beat them. They have started slow in nearly every game.
That boads well for us, since our defense doesn't show up until the second half, but has been quitely decent if you only look at second half performance. BU also doesn't sling the rock like they did with Briles, which of course, is Strong's kryptonite. This team has played much better at home, and with Strong's job on life support I think the team might come out fired up.

I've talked to some of my baylor friends who were former players and they can't figure out why the line is so low. There are no key injuries on baylor squad.

Vegas either knows something or this is a sucker bet.

It's at home and we play a lot better at home, and Baylor is way overrated in the top 10. I don't think it should be 3 points, but I don't expect a massacre either. To me it's low at 3 but not ridiculously low.

Look at Baylor's box scores and look at Texas's box scores. Throw out the FCS teams Baylor has played. That's why.

I agree. I don't expect a win, but Texas should move the ball fairly easily as should Baylor. I would expect a somewhat close high scoring game. 45-38

Baylor's opponents are a cumulative 12-30. Baylor's one conference road game was a 45-42 last second field goal win over 1-6 Iowa St. Even by Baylor standards, this has been a putrid schedule. Best win was against Okie St., which got inside the 10 four times in the 2nd half with only 6 points to show for it. When Texas does win this game, please don't say it saves Charlie's job --- fool's gold.

An ugly win against OSU is better than getting your doors blown off by OSU. The only way Strong saves his job is winning out which I just can't see with this defense. We will probably beat another team other than Kansas, and it could be Baylor, but he won't field anything that resembles a good team the rest of the year. Our offense is starting to hit a wall as well.

Baylor is going to do everything they can to break the score board! They blame Texas for everything.........................Everything! If they get rolling early, I see them trying to put 50 up as fast as they can get in the end zone and never let off the gas.

They're going to attempt to run this team out of the gym.

And if said blowout happens does he get the hook before the end of the year?

Vegas ALWAYS knows something.I have been completely purged of the Koolaide by now, but I know the field is littered by the bodies of those that thought they could outsmart Vegas.

Most of the teams BU has beat are something like 1-6.

I've got some connections to the BU football program and they are nervous about this game. That said I still think Baylor gets the W

The Baylor caretaker won't allow this. I think UT wins, Groh is a bigger hindrance to BU than the UT defense will be.

There are some stories now that there is trouble in the locker room. Apparently the players have been told by staff that Charlie has already been told he will not be retained. Malik is starting to catch a lot of flack, but, he is not playing his natural position. Players are starting not to trust the system.
Like I said when I started this thread, if Texas can hold down BU in the first half, they have a shot. If they don't though, this might get ugly, quickly.
