This close to the game it's either a curfew violation or he was late to the flight. Mackoprick used to say "don't be late to the flight, ever! I will leave you anywhere in America." Gary might have missed bed check.... or he had a girl hiding in his closet during bed check....(i caught a suspension for that once.... as did a few other dudes). There's only so many nooks and crannys you can hide girls in your dorm at Jester. Plus, chicks are like nervous quail, most of them give themselves up once they hear a booming voice say "Now there better NOT be any girls in here!". They just fold like a cheap suit.

But those are my guesses.
