Golf Clubs recommendations

My old (30+ years ) Golfsmith XPC Irons are just a few steps up from Hickory Shafts. Plus, I'm older now, 63 years old now. I am returning to playing Golf and while I can afford to get whatever I want, I'd like to keep it under $1,000.00 please. Any ideas? I have even looked at Costcos Calloway Edge set for $499.00. I love my putter, and I'll pick up a 3 wood and a driver separately . Is there a Golf Ball that's better for "old people" also?
