Wow that’s a lot of money to turn down. I like Gundy, seems like a good guy. He obviously knows how to recruit some talent.
have you ever been to stillwater?Interesting. I know Baylor made a sizeable offer last year, but that was never going to happen. If he is still looking around, he must really be unhappy in Stillwater.
Gundy would be a helluva hire for any team. I wish Texas could have gotten him.
Without the mullet!
Probably could of if we had doubled his salary like Tenn is doing.Gundy would be a helluva hire for any team. I wish Texas could have gotten him.
Lemme answer that for you:Gundy turned Tennessee down. Question is did Boone write him a check.
Yeah kinda figure. How bad is the Tennessee job? Dude just turned down a 6 year contract at double his current salary, and he went. Nah I’m good. Yikes.Lemme answer that for you:
Shortly after the bowl game, OSU will announce a "contract extension" for Gundy.
That’s a ton of money to turn down. Although one has to assume he’s getting some of that in a new deal at ok state. Still. Tennessee looks really bad right now.Gundy turns down 42 mil over 6 years.
Why go there & contend with:That’s a ton of money to turn down. Although one has to assume he’s getting some of that in a new deal at ok state. Still. Tennessee looks really bad right now.
True. The only reason for him to leave OSU anyway is if he really just is done with Boone. He’s an alum, taken the program to levels it hasn’t been in a long time, maybe ever. He has a job there until he doesn’t want one.Why go there & contend with:
Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, & Florida (Dan Mullins)?
When you can stay at OSU & you are only contending with:
OU, TCU, & maybe Texas?
I think his offense would give all of those teams you named fits. I am a fan of Gundy, think he's a good guy and appears to run a clean program. The only apprehension I have about him is his teams seem to not have the ability to meet expectations. How many Conference titles has he won? 1? Over the last 5 or 6 years alone, I have felt going into the Bedlam game that OSU have more offensive fire power in at least half of those games but for whatever reason they can't get it done. I'm not sure if that's on him or the players or what but I do think he's a good coach. Why go there & contend with:
Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, & Florida (Dan Mullins)?

I saw that haha. That was my first thought as well..Boone is selling one of his casas in Tejas to pay Gundy! LOL
