I wanted to point out something I’ve come across, as I’ve began this personal deconstructing from the Israel propaganda.
Now before everyone gets all upset with what I just said, please note I said personal. I understand that this is a personal breakthrough for me, and not everyone is where I am. Many are where I used to be; inundated with pro-Israel talk my entire life it seems, and I never questioned it. Never questioned why, or really examined the geo-political stance regarding Israel and Palestine. Until now.
So regarding this post, I have heard for a month now particular talking points repeatedly, one being that the Hamas charter has in writing, black and white, that their main goal is to kill all Jews and destroy Israel.
So I figured I would go read the Hamas charter myself, and see for myself rather than just believe what everyone has been saying.
I went to Jewish Virtual Library.org, seems like a good place to start, and wouldn’t you know, they have a copy of the Hamas charter located within, for all to read. I’ll post the link here.

16. Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine. Yet, it is the Zionists who constantly identify Judaism and the Jews with their own colonial project and illegal entity.
Hmm, doesn’t seem to say that whole “killing all Jews” part. Seems like a very reasonable and realistic approach to be taking up an issue with the ideology of Zionism.
Actually, They say it specifically “not with the Jews because of their religion”.
They even openly state their position regarding Zionism, in article 14.
14. The Zionist project is a racist, aggressive, colonial and expansionist project based on seizing the properties of others; it is hostile to the Palestinian people and to their aspiration for freedom, liberation, return and self-determination. The Israeli entity is the plaything of the Zionist project and its base of aggression.
There is a lot of propaganda out there, and has been out there, for years. I could go on and on with the Israeli propaganda machine worm hole that I’ve gone down, but that’s for another thread.
So here it is, in black and white, the Hamas charter.
For those who are starting to see through this pro-Israeli speech we’ve all heard for years, you can now diplomatically tell and show those who will misquote the charter. Hamas doesn’t have a goal to kill all the Jews. It’s false, it’s a lie, it’s intentional propaganda to continue to make Palestinians look like animals and savages to justify Israel looking the perpetual victim. They are not. The Hamas charter directly contradicts that talking point.
Now I’ll hang up and come back to a Litany of post calling me a Hamas sympathizer and terrorist and I’m anti-Semitic. I am not saying that Hamas hasn’t done harm, of course it has. I am not saying that Jewish lives have not been lost due to Hamas violence, of course they have. Hamas’s conflict is with Israel, not with Jews, or Judaism, it’s with Israel, and specifically Zionism, and the occupation of Palestine.
I encourage people to at least read the charter for themselves.
It’s not too late for people to step out of a comfort zone and start asking yourself “what about Palestine?”
