The Sunday pulpit this morning by @Anwar Richardson, which was a great read, stirred up some conversation on the positives and negatives that Coach Strong has brought to the program. It got me thinking; what has Coach Strong done that is worth $10MM?
From a football standpoint, nothing.
An 11-14 record thus far has given us much doubt about his ability to succeed as the Texas football head coach. A position that undergoes much scrutiny, but nonetheless will be held in high regard with success. The caveat here is that he's had off the field success in recruiting and changing the culture. His core values and disciplinarian approach is more valuable than ever right now with the controversies going on in other programs. He's also brought us Malik Jefferson. An ambassador for Texas football that will continue to deliver recruiting benefits.
Having said that, these are all things that can't be measured in dollars at the moment.
