Next summer we are planning to meet some close friends in Hawaii. We are coming from Austin and the kids are currently 7 and (almost) 4. Our friends are coming from Australia and the kids are 11yo twins.
Neither family has been to Hawaii but we are planning approx 10 days. I imagine our Aussie friends are going to go much longer (if you know Australians you understand). Anyways the point of my post is asking for advice. Which island should we go to? Should we do a resort or just get a nice house to split? What are the can't miss things?
We are fairly adventurous, our youngest is fearless and will try most anything (which can be terrifying). We love snorkeling and scuba and the kids love the beach. Hiking and exploring would be very high on our to do. While I know there will be lots of tourists I tend toward avoiding large crowds if possible, but it won't prevent us from a must do. Anyways what do the travelled and brilliant masses at OB suggest?
