Why would a player enter the transfer portal in the middle of a season? One injury makes for an opportunity! They miss quality practice time for the next year even if you do not get game experience.

I agree with you. Makes no sense to me either. Frustration and anger come to mind. I wonder how many at least stay and finish there academics for the semester, even though they left the team. If they also quit school before the semester ends, then they are really dumb. Probably misguided in thinking they are NFL material and have no plan B if they don't make it.

Pride.
Embarrassment.
Ego.

All those things that fvck with your head.

I think of it this way and maybe it’s not right but if you weren’t happy at your company and think an opportunity is better else where do you just sit idle or go for that next opportunity? He probably thinks he’s better off some where else whether it’s playing time, coaches, other teammates etc..we don’t know. Why would you leave your company for another?

But do you quit and sit on the couch or look while still employed?

I would never quit without having something lined up. Is that not what happens with the transfer portal? I honestly don’t know.
They miss out on all that practice time that is key for development. They can't transfer to the new school until the academic semester is over I believe.

I think it speaks a lot about the individual IMO. It's just a different breed of kids nowadays. My father would have never let me quit something that I started. That was something that was instilled in me at a young age. I actually like the new transfer rules as it gives guys more of a chance to play, but I will never understand quitting in the middle of a season.

Ok I understand it’s not the fact he’s transferring it’s when. Got it! I totally agree with your statement. The way kids are raised yesterday/today is definitely not the same.
