I have never belonged to, signed up with or been beholden to a political party ever in my life. I saw what can happen to people who cling to a party harder than their country in history classes. Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia are just two examples that don't take long to come to mind. There are no lines between the parties, there is just one "party" and that is the political elite and how they serve themselves.
What is happening with the republican party can easily happen with the democrat party. When the system is threatened the money guys will line up together, crossing these so called "party lines" that exists only in principled people. Unprincipled people control political parties folks.
You belong to a party, either party, you contribute - you are complicit - in supporting this protected system over anything else because you will not hold these people accountable for betraying what this "party" stands for. This is proof that the American people haven't had a real word to say in any election. And the President scolding the Supremes for Citizens America? Right. That was theater not matched by anything Broadway has ever put out. With a wink and a nod, fake indignation but behind the doors they all high-fived each other.
This is proof that political parties mean absolutely nothing to the ones in charge. Never has, it was just a way to collect money and power. To the unwashed, unthinking masses it's a team sport. To the thinkers, it's just sad.
