Saw reports saying our ol boy got a coaching gig.............

Looks like he got the job!! I’ll be rooting for him. I think he will do well there.

It’s a good spot to rebuild yourself. Ask Lane kiffin. If he does well you’ll see him back in the power 5 in 2-3 years. He has potential as a coach. Just wasn’t mature enough or ready for the big job. It happens.

I’d bet my money on him to do good. He’s won at every spot he’s ever been to. He’s a great football mind but a POS human being.

Yep. If he wants a big time job again he’s gonna have to find some people skills. I don’t think he had many friends left at Texas in the end, and the recored and recruiting wasn’t good enough to put up with the behavior anymore.

If Nothing else, the guy can recruit. I didn’t know Todd Orlando is the DC at FAU. Maybe Herman is getting the band back together lol. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him hire Beck and Carrington.

Doubtful. Sounds like he has some power 5’s interested in him, but I think you could see some of the other portal guys end up there.
see i think he should go to a smaller school like Shane B did with SMU..throw up huge numbers, get to the nfl and collect a paycheck. Dont go to a big school where you could be casey thompson.

You said big school when referring to Nebraska football. Lolz.

They've gone down the same route as the early football ivy league schools......except without the educational clout.

How long before FAU learns that winning is hard?

Just go 1-0 every week!

I actually have no problem with Herman. I hope he does very well. All the best to him.
I hope Herman does well also. What he needs to do is hire a young, up and coming ol coach. In his case that's imperative.

Herman, for the most part, is a good recruiter but don't forget he also signed Derek Kerstetter and Cade Brewer.

Really? The Brockmeyer twins and Quinn Ewers say “hello”.

Lest we forget, Herman had 2 back to back top 3 recruiting classes. I don’t even think Mack did that. He also recruited a 5* Ed Oliver to UH, something that hadn’t been done before. He definitely slacked in his last year in recruiting, but make no mistake about it, the man can recruit.

Hope all those FAU players like being kissed by a grown ass man. 🤮 Just creepy and weird

Maybe he's the next Kiffin. Both are a bag of d^cks but they know football. Maybe Herman's recent humbling experience takes him to the next level as one of Saban's coordinators.

Herman will do well the rest of the way. He was to immature when he was at Texas. He also didn't do a good job with his assistant coach hiring. It was too little too late (just like Charlie) when he hired Chris Ash and Mike Yurcich.

2020 damaged by covid. Ash and Yurcich never have a chance to put in their schemes. I don't know what happened to Ash but Yurcich is doing pretty good at PS.

There is a case to be made on both sides. It all matters on what is inside Card's head. Does he really seek an NFL career or does he just want to have a great college career and then putting his degree to work in the real world. The main difference between him and Shane is that Shane had plateau'd. Hudson Card is still on the up part of his development. Card, like 90% of QBs in D1 isn't good enough to carry a team on his back, but with a decent OL, he can make a difference on a P5 team.

Let me rephrase. Herman was trying to be like Saban and Kiffin and that ilk of assholish coach style but it didn’t really fit with his real personality. Won’t forget the mocking QB gesture when we played Missouri. Yes, very immature way to be a leader for those that are following you. Will be interesting to see what character he plays next.

He’s a great hire if you just want a football coach. I’m surprised a bigger school didn’t nab him

Lol why would he take a step down and be one of Sabans coordinators, when he just got the HC job at FAU?

Yep I said that many times when he was here. It felt like he was playing the role of football coach rather than being football coach

He was trying to be like his mentor Urban. Worked at UH, kinda worked at Texas. I think he will do well at FAU. Hopefully he’s matured since then.

Yep. I think he’s a lot like Lane Kiffin. Got way too much way too soon in his career. He almost had the Texas or USC job after his first year at Houston. By the time his 2nd year rolled around it was almost a forgone conclusion from week 1 he was gonna end up in Austin by years end. Taking a step down to go forward will do him well

100% agree. After he won a natty at OSU Herman’s career took off super fast. Hopefully he’s humbled himself a little like Kiffin and does well in his second tour as a HC. I wouldn’t bet against him.

I did a few days ago. I’ve been laid out with the Covid since thanksgiving, so I’ve been scarce myself. Didn’t want to share with you knuckleheads. 😉
You shouldn’t have swapped celebritory spit with all the random strangers around you after the Astros win😉
