Don't think I'm trying to call you out on the board I don't do things like that to a fellow orangeblood. But since we're both of here in California and you said you live in the San Diego area and because it's SB weekend how do you feel about the chargers moving to LA? I mean the chargers have been in SD for 55 years!!!!!! And to leave for somewhere 90 minutes away is another kick in the stomach.

And you know I know enough about LA that the people may not even care that an NFL team is back in town. They haven't had a team for 20 years and they really don't miss it. LA is a town where the NFL is not going to be number one with the locals. There is a lot of competition with other sports and the rams and the chargers are about to find out.

Did SD make an effort to keep the chargers? Does the Spanos family still own the chargers? I don't know what people in SD think of them but they're from Stockton which is an hour from where I live and up here they have an unsavory reputation.

I don't want to extend this thread and start talking about the Raiders, rams, in relation to LA I'll leave it with the chargers.

Thoughts?

Even though I've lived in SD for 15 years, I'm a die-hard Titans fans. Houston-born, I've followed the Oilers/Titans since that 1st game in Oakland in 1960. And was living in Nashville when the franchise relocated (I tell folks Bud followed me to TN). So the Chargers doings are of no interest to me as a sports fan, but as a tax-payer, I don't think the city has ever gotten a decent return on it's investment in the team.

Yes, the Spanos family still owns the team. They're no very popular because of the years of threats to move the team and then seeking League's recent approval to actually move. I know lots of Chargers fans who are really upset at the idea of losing the team that has, as you said, been here for 55 years. As of yesterday, Dean Spanos was talking as if he wants to stay. I think it will be really ironic if the Chargers and Rams to share a stadium in LA. It'll be harkening back to their roots as the LA Chargers and LA Rams, even though it was only one year (1960).
