Hits Just Keep on Coming!

A lot of those national guys just don't know what they are talking about. Their problem is they try and report on most of the big teams in college football
and just don't take the time to get the information they need to know what's going on.

Most fans that follow recruiting on their teams major message boards know much more about their teams and major rivals than the national talking heads.

They might know what they are talking about. I guess you guys forgot about last year when you all thought you were getting Jamabo, Kyler Murray, Lodge and Mack. Remember how that turned out?

We only thought we might get them, you blithering idiot. We're happy how things turned out last year, and feel this year could be just as good. Meanwhile, the Northgate Nazis are back to being mediocre. THE University is on an upward trend.

Aw look Mike is upset about reality. So he wants to rewrite history.

Last year, UT fans were interested in how Charlie would close in his first full year coaching/recruiting. Especially after a bad year.
And he closed quite well. Out of about 20 kids we were in on, we missed on a few. Way to point those out in an attempt to act like he didn't close well. Oh and you thought you were in on all those guys and then some. How did Lodge work out for you......How very disingenuous of you.

And since you brought it up, how did Murray work out for you?

LOL, did you just throw Murray out there? And why didn't we get him? Oh yea, because your drunk coach made him a bunch of promises he had no intention of keeping, and now you have no QBs. I think that little loss worked out pretty well for us. You lost two 5'star QBs, and we have Shane Buschele already on campus.

Oh, and we got a hell of a linebacker and DB class out of last year along with two freshmen AA offensive linemen and a badass RB and WR.

So tell me again how bad our recruiting class was? Outside of Mack, there isn't a single guy in your class I'd take

Aggsy worst nightmare is staring them in the face.

They are forever behind Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss, in their new division. Now they are also behind their old division mates in Oklahoma, Baylor and Texas.

You aggsy will spend the next 100 years bent over and praying for lube.

Son not to rain on your parade but aggy is used to being bent over praying for lube. It is the only thing they are actually good at.

No. I remember thinking we were getting Jamabo. Murray seemed like a possibility for one week of his entire recruitment. Mack never seemed likely, nor Lodge. Another thing I remember is that Aggie considered Jefferson and McNeal locks, and not only considered Boyd a lock, but had to be told about half a dozen times that the commitment to Texas was solid. Memories.

I'd take Kirk in a heartbeat. Aggs had a good class, but to say we didn't is just stupid. We loaded up on need positions and if we close this year like we did last, I think the tide will have finally turned. Big wild card is how good is Buechelle. We still need a QB just as bad as agsy does.

I think a lot of this recruiting stuff is BS. Obviously if you stockpile 3-5 top 5 classes in a row, you ought to be good for a while, but development and evaluating the kids for being a "football player" and having character and/or developing character in a lot of these kids is the most challenging part. Just keeping some of these guys in a program is seemingly incredibly difficult since the 4-5 stars have been told how great they are forever. This, I think is the challenge for everybody, and why I think Nick Saban remains on top. He gets the best recruits, but is also able to mold them, and doesn't seem to get complacent. If Texas hits the right need areas for them and develops them well, their recruiting rankings won't matter so much, but .500 season or worse the next couple of years will. Plus, if he wins 9 games this year, which is not out of the question, recruiting will pick up big time. Your problems are more similar to ours than some want to admit. The more each program is mired in mediocrity, the longer we will be be in the desert. Of course, because of your history compared to ours, it should be a shorter road out for you, but history has shown what a couple of bad HC hires can do to a program. Just my opinion.

You really didn't used to be nearly this stupid. Get someone to take you to rehab before you fully lobotomize yourself.

Funny these guys never mention that Texas closed out the last 6 weeks before last LOI day getting; Malik, McNeal, Wheeler, Hill, Boyd, Davis, and Locksley. On LOI day got Warren, Newsome, Locke, and Lampkin. That makes 11 of the 15 guys the staff were trying to close on.

That is 6 starters(by end of the season) and a few big contributors.

Anyone can look at a recruiting list and count how many players are committed. We have 13 right now (not counting Eboh). We may lose more, but we will for sure gain more.

The point is anyone that follows Texas recruiting knows that momentum is building with this class, just like last year, and know the hits that are coming this year are on recruits we want.

Dumb article from a writer that gets paid to write articles based on events that have already happened-journalism. The writer is not a blogger and can't prognosticate from rumors, twitter, and recruiting visits. It's just dumb to look at journalism as a longhorn fan.

Yeah, we remember very well. We closed strong just like we're about to do again. Guess you forgot how we got H.Hill, K.Boyd, M.Jefferson, D.McNeal, C.Warren,etc. down the stretch last year. You probably blocked that out since we're about to get another higher ranked class than you.

Several of these article came out at once. Writer takes a look at current recruiting ranking, says we are no longer recruiting as well as the national powers, are 4th or 5th best in Texas, determines that the program is in serious trouble, attributes it to A&M going to the SEC and LHN.
It's lazy journalism. Sure, they don't need to consider message board rumors with no evidence. But why not just look at the remaining targets and if said targets consider Texas one of their top options. Look at how many open spaces we have that will be filled by some combination of those targets. Then you can easily see that the sky is not falling. But that is not the story they want to write.
