Anyone believing that week 1 opening polls don't mean anything are only fooling themselves. It shouldn't be that way but it is. I'm sure Vegas etc. are all behind it to some extent. When the actual first "official polls" come out around week 4 or so, are they any different that what has been projected thru the first 3 weeks? No, not really, usually there is really no difference at all other than a team may move a spot.

If truth be told and all things being equal should OU realistically be No. 4 after losing Murray and finishing with 100+ defense? I’m not complaining but from a realistic standpoint not everything always makes sense. I’d put OU top 10 though. Everything always seems to work out in the end

True, but a team shouldn’t be favored in the rankings because of an easier schedule. Lots of dumbass sportswriters do it that way, though.
