I wish they woulda left them like the old days, I remember McCallum going to play Belton and Temple and Cleburne and Alice and a buncha SA Teams, it would keep it fair, the district lines is a rigged deal, that allows a school to stockpile talent, but then again there was only 3 HS in Austin back then and then Reagan came and Lanier, our biggest Rival back then was the Travis Rebels across the I 35 bridge offa Riverside, we painted the whole front of the school Blue and Grey one Sat night while we was drunk..lol and we went BB finals at Gregory Gym against Snook and that little school tore us a new one, thats the sports I miss the most

When we were boys, Highland Park and Wichita Falls won several state champs. When there was only 1 division. Coach at Plano convinced the school board to build him 1 big high school to have enough recruits to beat Highland Park. It worked.

As the number of high schools increase, the over all quality of HS football decreases. By continuing to spread talent around the state, we lose dominant teams and thus dilute the talent pool.

Texas had 3.2 million kids in public schools in the 87/88 and 5.5 million kids in public schools in 18/19. State population is up to 29 million. No way to cram 2.3 million extra kids into schools. You would have high schools with 10000 kids in them
