Just great to see a starter injured when game is totally in control! Especially a thin offensive line!

I haz confusion....thought he was in because the starters were done?

Ok real slow this time you need to have a 2 deep rotation that's healthy without a drop off in talent to compete with good teams coming up. Still confused ?

Hudson NEEDED to be on the field. He is NOT a starter yet..he is young....and he NEEDS reps. This is part of football and you are just wrong. If he didn't get to play you probably would be mad that he needs to get reps because he is a future stud. Can't have it both ways.

How can you have a 2 deep rotation without the other player having reps? He's more likely to get hurt not having any type of experience on the field in college. I hear your concern but it's not realistic. He needs to play in a real game not just in practice against his teammate.

So you still haven't explained to anyone when we should be playing our backups so as to develop a strong two deep. Should they rotate plays on the first series of the game?

We should already know the 2 deep and not one of them should be chancing a injury with a 42 point lead!!! Or keep risking a season ending injury for what??? Old time Nebraska would have no names in by 3rd quarter and kept 2deep fresh cause they only played half a game and by season end the third string was very well experienced in case of injury to a 2 deep guy! Make sense now?

No it doesn't make sense now. "Knowing" who the two deep is and having a quality two deep is very different things. We know who our #2 TE is. That doesn't make him automatically good.

Honest question. Would Hudson's injury and it's impact on the season going forward somehow be different if he'd been hurt in the 1st quarter? I'm still waiting for someone to complete a study that proves playing late in games when your team has a big lead is actually more unsafe than playing in tie games in the 1st half.

Every snap is a chance for injury and when you can't afford an injury because your not deep enough yet I think they should be resting for next game . I know injuries happen but this didn't need to happen he could get a medical redshirt I hope it's not too late? I think the coaches know who the two deep are when they name them after watching them practice all summer?

You. Are. Wrong. Hudson needs snaps. Period.

Why play anyone if they might get hurt? Roll out the cheerleaders if we're up by 7?

We don't have a 2 deep OL. There aren't 10 worthy OL bodies on our roster. Every backup needs a ton of work. Hell some of the starters do as well.

@EyesOnTexas Did you watch any of last season? Did you watch the Maryland game? This whole team needs work period! They all need to be rotating in and out to get work during true game day. Yeah it sucks we lost someone on the OL but it's going to happen in other positions as well. We can't build depth without people actually playing and injuries come with it along the way.

I may half agree with the argument if Texas were a contender and the player was a 1st team All American 1st round pick and was playing late in a game and Texas is up 49.......this is not even close to that. Hudson is a young pup who needs snaps....I can't believe anyone would disagree. It seems it is just someone wanting to make something out of nothing. trying to place blame on the coaches....

What does knowing who is on the two deep have to do with anything? Again, someone being a top backup at a position is not inherently good based on nothing more than being in the two deep. It simply means he's the top backup. I don't know why you keep bringing up that the coaches already know the depth chart. Ok? Is every backup fantastic on the Longhorns?

At this point we are just piling on, but I'm bored. Do we even have 15 OL bodies? I mean even if we all agreed that once a game is in hand that the 2 deep should be on the bench, do we even have another 5 guys to field a line?

18 that doesn't include injuries.

We have 14 scholly OL. 1 (Sr), 6 (Jr) E ROD is out, 3 (Soph), 2 (RS Fresh) Hudson is out and 2 (Fresh)

We are down to 12 scholly OL, you don't play the 2 Fish if you don't have to and allow them time to develop, OL is not a position you trot out there just to play for experience. So we have 10 plus the Sr awarded a scholarship (Graf).

Hudson got hurt late in the game (13 minutes to play) when he should have been in there getting reps. Shit happens. Hudson was/is not a starter.

The only starter we have lost so far on the line is E Rod.

Ok guys let's just watch who takes Hudsons reps now y'all win. Just an observation of trying to keep guys healthy after game is totally under control.

Who are the guys that should be out there? We've got to put 11 guys on the field.
