I believe Texas is in a win-win now.

Texas is in a great position right now I believe. aggy has went fullblown aggy again and recruits are seeing through the bells and whistles nonsense. Now we are at a point where this staff with all the changes will succeed........or the next coach (Maybe Herman) will have good young players and will bring in an excitement with him to Texas.

Both options work very well for me. Am I seeing it wrong?

I absolutely believe that too. The talent level from the 15 class and hopefully from the 16 class will be big. If Strong is here or another coach the Texas Longhorns are HEADED in the right direction finally......If Strong gets the offense going with the new OC and gets the defense back to where it needs to be he will be here. If Strong doesn't a new coach hopefully will get better talent than most new coaches get and a recruiting bounce. I just hope Herman doesn't end up at aggy.

I agree. With A$M being a dumpster fire, if we can stop these negative stories about the AD and BOR being against Strong we could be in play for a great recruiting class. The man can recruit, he proved that last year! Let's get behind the man see what he can do with another very good recruiting class and a new offensive staff (which i agree was mostly his fault but still a little bit pattersons)! The big 12 is ready for Texas greatness and NEEDS Texas to be Texas again. I truly believe Strong can do it if given time and support. Yes, he has made mistakes but so have many other coaches. He needs support for year 3 both in the stands and from the "big wigs"! If he does then I think this guy would be someone we could "hook'em" with for a long time!!!

Cautiously optimistic myself. We def need another great class this year though. Always knew ATM would implode at some point. It's in their DNA.

I believe UH is going to do whatever it takes to keep Coach Herman happy where he is. They have already opened his contract up once ( without being asked) to fend off offers. I'd just bet you they'd do it again now that his team, first year ( while experiencing QB problems themselves) went 12/1 and totally spanked Florida State yesterday on national tv.

UH is trying to take itself to the next level under the leadership of its President Dr Renu Khator, and its grad donors. If I were Coach Herman, I think I would be thinking I might have the chance to be THE Darrell Royal of University of Houston, and stay and make UH bigger than it ever was - if the money says close. The donors want to make UH into THE University of Houston, like Texas is THE University of Texas - Much like Coach Mack Brown's story of Coach Royal visiting him at where ever Coach Brown was coaching at the time and telling him, "Boy you need to get yourself to some place that calls itself THE as its first name..."

I'm not sure hiring Coach Herman away is in anybody's ability as he looked like he was well moved by the game results last night.

Our new OC and his O Line Coach look much like the same types as Coach Herman, and I do like the fact that I think the initial hold up was he wanted to bring his O Line Coach with him to install his Offence rather than argue with an incumbent. He means business. And I think Coach Strong and Texas mean business to hire BOTH.
